International Bog Day at Volo Bog

July 27th 2008

Featured inside the Visitor Center were "Voices of the Land" by historian Joel Greenberg and musicians Tom & Chris Kastle.  At the same time upstairs, Friends of Volo Bog volunteers were working with children doing crafts, and Stephen Aardsma was demonstrating his bird wood carving skills.  Outside we had John & Debbie Seaton of the Celtic Sun demonstrating Irish crafts including the Bodhran drum.  Various Weekend Naturalists conducted tours into the Bog.  Visitors were everywhere viewing the art work displays, enjoying refreshments, and taking in the beauty of Volo Bog.
