Summer Bog Art Show

& International Bog Day Artists’ Reception

Show Dates: July 3^th - August 7^th * 2009

Submissions Accepted June 10^th - July 1^st Each artist may contribute one item.

Space is limited - phone ahead (815-344-1294) beginning May 13^th to

reserve space, obtain registration form and arrange delivery time.

Works must be delivered in person. No electronic submissions.

Reception Sunday July 26^th 12 noon - 1 p.m.

Followed by Live Entertainment celebrating International Bog Day

Works must be picked up on August 8^th from 9 am - 3 pm or by appointment at a later date.

Volo Bog’s Second Annual Summer Bog Art Show is an exciting opportunity for artists (ages 12 –

Adult) with a variety of mediums to display in conjunction with International Bog Day. Established in

- Scotland in 1989, IBD is celebrated on the fourth Sunday every July.

Only ONE Rule!

Subject MUST be representative of, inspired by BOGS, the Wetland- Not General Nature.

Sculpture Photography Paintings Drawings

Ceramics Crafts Pottery Carving Glass Mosaic

Mixed Media Textile Poetry

All items must be original works by the artist

International Bog Day kicks off with an artists’ reception

then follows with live music and storytelling.

At the reception, artists will mingle and meet with visitors then be invited to present a brief

gallery talk. The exhibit will help promote local artists and awareness of the unique bog

ecosystem.
