Annual Picnic and Meeting 2008

Members of the “ShutterBugs” joined us on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at our annual feast in the Volo Bog pavilion. It was a beautiful day and more than 50 people attended the event, catered by the “Picnic Basket” in Libertyville.

After eating an Excellent lunch,Gwen Selby, President of the ‘ShutterBugs”, handed out award certificates and lovely hand carved birds to the club’s winning photographers. (See photos below) The wood carving artist, Stephen Aardsma was one of our guest, and many of his carvings can be seen on the window cell in the visitors Center looking out at the bird feeders.

We had a reelection of five officers of our club, and the Friends’ Chairperson, Dan Haller, called our meeting to order, and everybody present was brought up to date..
