2020 Ghost Stories Streaming Live

from Volo Bog SNA- a Virtual Family Event

For Everyone's safety, 2020 Ghost Stories is being reimagined. Storyteller Jim May will  "Zoom" into your homes. Make this a day of family fun.  In the continued Ghost Stories tradition, we would like you to enjoy an evening with your family. 

Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, we will not be holding our Ghost Stories celebration in-person this year but rather via Zoom. Further details and a Zoom link will only be sent to those Friends of Volo Bog Members who email us to register.

Gather around the glow of your computer in the comfort of your own living room. Long-time favorite storyteller Jim May will be streaming live from the Volo Bog Visitor Center on….

Saturday, October 17

  • 7:00 – 7:45 pm - Ghosts, Ghoulies & Pajamas! Stories for all ages

  • 8:00 – 9:00 pm - Bedtime Stories to give you Nightmares! Stories for adults & teens

Pumpkin Carving in the Slightly Haunted Picnic Area

at Volo Bog State Natural Area on Rescheduled for

Wednesday October 21st from 3-5PM 


Wednesday, October 21 , 3:00 – 3500 pm    $5.00/pumpkin payable upon arrival.   Registration is required.  Please reply to register or phone 815-344-1294 

Meet by the Flagpole


Transform a pumpkin into a Jack-o-Lantern! Friends of Volo Bog and volunteers will be on hand to direct guests in carving either a simple Jack or a complex work of art. Work on our safely spaced picnic tables throughout the haunted picnic area. Masks will be required when our helpers are nearby, so please bring them with you. Bring your own tools or use ours provided.  Open to ages 4 – adult.
