The 2024 Friends of Volo Bog scholarship season is open!
As of January 1st, Friends of Volo Bog is accepting application materials from qualified students to win a $1,500 scholarship. Applicants must have a plan to either enter or continue college studies towards an environmental or natural science degree, with the goal of pursuing an environmentally related career. Applying students must also live in one of seven Illinois counties to be eligible: Lake, McHenry, Cook, DuPage, Will, Kendall, or Kane.

This year, we are excited to have increased the amount of each scholarship to $1,500 (from $1,000), and to offer four scholarships rather than our previous two! The FOVB Scholarship Committee is grateful to Dave and Cynthia LeMieux for their generous donation in support of the increased scholarships.
We are eager to receive applications. Our review will begin in April and scholarship winners will be notified in May.
